  Our History

The Palatine Children's Chorus was founded in 1987 by Judy Meyer Hays and since then has become one of the Chicago area’s premiere children's choruses. Supported by the Palatine Park District, the PCC program has grown to include children as young as 4 and as old as 18 in 6 individual choirs led by 6 adult staff. Under Artistic Director Susan Falbo’s leadership (1994-2012), Concert and Honors choirs began touring in 1997, experiencing cultures and music as far east as Vienna and as far west as Hawaii. During our 25th “Dare to Dream” anniversary year, we focused on new goals and opportunities for all of our singers, even our youngest, and rededicated our energy to our mission, giving children enthusiastic, energetic music education and outstanding performance opportunities.

Artistic Director Rachel Rosellini (2012-2018), a former PCC singer, continued that dedication: to nurture in each singer the confidence, satisfaction, and joy music brings.  Following in Rachel's footsteps next was Artistic Director Stevee (Bellas) Libert, (2018-2022) who was a PCC singer as well for over 10 years, and served as our Assistant Artistic Director for two years with a special focus on musicianship.  She continued to focus on outstanding music education for each singer through excellence in every rehearsal and performance.

Lena Burke served for the Fall of 2022 and came with a great music education background. She also sings alto with the professional choir Cor Cantiamo, and she was recently presented with an award for meritorious service as an Early Career Educator through the Illinois State Board of Education.
